SMT China Magazine Announces
The 2nd SMT China VISION Awards Winners
Hong Kong SAR, China---April 15, 2008--- SMT China Magazine hosted the 2nd annual SMT China VISION Awards Presentation Ceremony on April 8, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, in Everbright Hotel, Shanghai. This is currently the only program for the China electronic manufacturing industry. More than 200 guests from participating companies and professionals from the industry attended the Ceremony. There were 28 products from 26 companies received The SMT China VISION Awards, 15 products from 13 companies received the Excellence Awards, and 2 companies received the Chinese Achievement Awards.
※The rapid development of China electronic manufacturing industry has drawn the world＊s attention. Inevitably, international and domestic SMT equipment, materials and services providers have made tremendous contributions to the growth of the industry,§ said Mr. Adonis Mak, President of ACT International Media Group and Publishing Director of SMT China magazine. ※In order to recognize their contributions, SMT China magazine launched the SMT China Vision Awards in 2007.§ In North America, the SMT Vision Awards are 16 years old. The event is organized by our sister publication in the United States, SMT Magazine. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious award programs of its kind in the U.S. ※The SMT China Vision Awards is similar to the program in the U.S. It is the unique and prestigious award program for China, participated and supported by world-class suppliers serving the industry in China, judged by experts in China, and Awards Presentation in China,§ continued, Adonis. SMT China magazine invited a distinguished panel of independent judges who are highly recognized experts in the field of electronics manufacturing technology. Also invited were a small group of SMT China readers to provide their opinions. The SMT China readers invited include manufacturing engineers at some of China's biggest and most advanced manufacturing plants in computer and peripherals, communications, consumer products and automotive electronics industries. Suggested by industry experts, judges and companies participated last year, the Vision Awards categories and the judging criteria were adjusted. The number of categories was expanded to 28 and was divided into 4 groups. The 10 Judging Criteria are Creativeness & Innovativeness, Performance, Reliability, Cost Effectiveness, Easy of Use, Flexibility, Compatibility, Quality Contributions, Environmental Responsibility, Maintainability/ Reparability/ Services. Two SMT China Vision Awards -Chinese Achievement Awards were presented to two China-based companies. The Awards were to encourage their continuous R&D efforts and to endorse their achievements and contributions to the industry. Newly added this year was the SMT China Vision Awards - Excellence Awards category. This was established to recognize the products or services that attained the highest score in each individual judging criteria. There were 15 winners in total for the 10 judging criteria. SMT China is the magazine for professionals in the field of China electronic manufacturing industry. Its mission is to provide information of manufacturing solutions to help engineers to solve problems in PCB assembly, and to provide them with latest technologies, methodology, tools, materials as well as analysis of industry trends.
